Primma Donna

My dad always called me a Primma Donna growing up, likely because I have always been overtly dramatic *cue tiny violins*. In all honesty, I don’t think it was intended to be taken as a compliment, but I embrace my shortcomings as much as I embrace my strengths. Love you Dad.

As I’ve gotten older, I’ve learned to appreciate this poignant side of myself. I am inherently feminine, expressive, often out-spoken, fastidious, emotional, theatrical, sensational, and I consider myself to be a leading lady *channeling my past life as Marie Antoinette*.

As a Leo born with my sun in the 5th house (also born on the 5th day) I am the physical embodiment of an untamed wild fire. The 5th house is often associated with self-expression, creativity, romance, enjoyment, and pleasure.

If you don’t believe in astrology or how the subtle shifts in the cosmos affects all life forms on Earth, consider the way the moon affects the tide, and then bear in mind that the human body consists of over 60% water. Then factor in gravitational pull, electromagnetic fields, energetic shifts, radionic pulses… you get my point.

But what does this have to do with WREATHS?!

Being center stage in my experiences with the performing arts has granted me the ability to perform very well in street markets. I attended Halloween on Central for the first time this past weekend and I was stationed in the Grand Central district. I dressed up in my finest Halloween attire, which for me, consists of a custom-made (support small businesses!) apron and tutu.

The people of St. Pete loved my booth – and my stage presence – SO MUCH, I was invited back for not ONE but TWO Christmas events next month! So now, I will be featured again at the Grand Central District St. Pete Market (an event as big as Halloween on Central) and Winter in the ‘Wood’ (which is set in Kenwood – my target market).

The universe works in mysterious ways. I had to take a pretty big gamble on the Halloween on Central event simply because of the cost of attendance. I had no clue how it was going to pan out or if I was going to even going to be lucky enough to break even. But I put myself out there, and the universe rewarded me.

Today’s moral of the story – PUT YOURSELF OUT THERE. Steal the spotlight. Take it and run with it. Kidding. But in all seriousness, gamble on yourself. The higher the risk, the higher the reward.

The apron I wore to the Halloween on Central event this past weekend designed by SassyFrass Collection. I’ve supported this maker for years, I own 4 of her aprons and I love each and every one. Check out her shop on Etsy.
